Ironman

I saw the movie on the plane to Italy a couple of weeks ago and so was just itching to colour an ironman pic when I got back! Luckily, Jon Glapion had sent me this one!

pencils by Philip Tan and inks by Jon Glapion; who sent me the high res to have a play with. All the machine exo-skeleton stuff wasn't *that* hard to do actually... the lineart itself did most of the work.

I had the great cover of Ironman 76 by Adi Granov sitting open beside me all the time I was doing this one. Wish I knew how he gets those lovely desaturated reds...!

(btw... if anyone's wondering why my website hasn't been updated in a while - well the coppermine galleries keep getting hacked and we can't work out why/how. However, my webhost (friend) is moving to a new server soon, and so they're not worth fixing until then.)

You should showo this to Kirk. Maybe they'll make a litho out of it and you can get paid for the work. I do remember them talking about doing a litho with this image at one point or another.

yah... I'll email him. I owe them 2 pictures anyway as they paid in advance at the beginning of this year and they never sent me anything... yet.

As usual Sean, your stuff is really hard to find any faults or stuff that I'd really offer as an option. Only thing I would say is that seeing a little brighter armor especially if you are using that grey/blackish background. You seem to do a lot of coloring using that background. And there isn't anything fundementally wrong with it, just a personal taste thing.

ok, he got back to me...

says the picture isn't dynamic enough (the drawing not the colours) so they passed on the idea.

but he thinks my colours are cool! Smile

Hum... Interesting. I heard they wanted to make a litho out of that to cash in on the Iron Man buzz. But that was before when the Movie came out. Oh well.
